Excellence
is not only in the classroom but is fostered through all aspects of a student’s life. Thus, I am a strong believer in supporting the whole student, including mental health, cultural awareness, and extracurricular activities.
I will work to center issues of mental health support for our young people, particularly regarding anti-bullying.
I support curriculum and classroom reforms that teachers, parents, and students alike agree are necessary. These readjustments include:
Support for the Culturally Linguistic Sustainability Program (CLSP Program), which fosters updates in language, social-emotional learning, and so on.
Fair and supportive student-to-teacher ratio.
More resources for educational materials and needed teaching tools.
I pledge to advocate for all students to have equal access to extracurricular experiences, which enrich learning. All students should have access to fine arts, sports, internships, and other experiential activities.
